Train Tracker Pro

OMF Solutions LLC (“OMF Solutions,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy rights of users (“you,” “your,” or “end-users”) of our mobile application Train Tracker Pro (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.
- Information We Do Not Collect
No Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
We do not collect your name, email address, postal address, phone number, date of birth, Social Security number, or any other data that could be used on its own or in combination with other data to identify you as an individual.
We do not ask you to register or log in with any personal credentials.
No Location Tracking Beyond App Use.
Although the App displays train locations and may request permission to access device location (e.g., to center the map on your current position), we do not record or store any portion of your GPS data, latitude/longitude coordinates, or location history.
All location-related functionality is performed in real time—strictly within the App—and no location data is ever uploaded to our servers or persisted locally beyond ephemeral use.
No Usage Analytics or Telemetry.
We do not embed any analytics SDKs or third-party telemetry services that collect usage patterns, crash reports, or behavioral metrics tied to you.
No user-specific identifiers (even anonymized or pseudonymized IDs) are generated, transmitted, or stored.
No Contact/Address Book Access.
We do not access your phone’s address book, contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone, or any other application or data beyond what is strictly required to display train schedules, maps, and associated Live Activity features.
- Information We May Temporarily Access (But Do Not Persist)
Device Location (Optional).
The App may prompt for “While Using the App” location permission to display your position on the map.
Your location is used only at the moment you request it, strictly to center the map view on your location.
No geolocation data persists once you close the map view or exit the App; we do not cache or transmit your coordinates to our servers.
Device Information (Local Only).
The App retrieves minimal device and operating system information (e.g., iOS version), strictly to ensure UI compatibility and performance.
Such information is used only at runtime within the App and is neither transmitted to OMF Solutions’s servers nor shared with any third parties.
- Server-Side Data Handling
Train-Tracking API Calls.
The App fetches public train schedule and location data via a proxy server operated by OMF Solutions. This proxy retrieves train position data from third-party APIs on a recurring schedule and temporarily stores the latest snapshot in a secure database to improve App performance and reliability.
These proxy requests do not include any user-specific identifiers, login credentials, or device metadata beyond standard network request headers. The cached data contains only public train position information and is automatically overwritten on each update. It is never linked to any individual user or device.
Live Activity Initiation & IP Address Capture.
When you initiate a Live Activity, the App sends a payload containing:
- Your device’s push token (for that Activity session)
- The selected train’s unique ID (e.g., “318”)
- The system-generated Live Activity identifier
At the moment the request reaches our server, we log the IP address from which the request originated. That IP address is used solely for troubleshooting, security, and capacity-planning purposes.
No personal identifiers (such as name, email, or user account) accompany that request. We do not link your IP address to any other data we hold, nor do we retain it in conjunction with any user profile or PII. Once the Live Activity session ends, any log entries containing the IP address remain in our secure, time-limited log store for no longer than 30 days, after which they are automatically purged.
Push Token Handling.
The push token obtained from Apple’s ActivityKit is transmitted to our server solely for the purpose of delivering real-time updates about your tracked train to your Lock Screen or Apple Watch.
Aside from routing notifications, we do not associate that token with any personal information or retain it beyond the lifespan of the Live Activity session.
Once you stop tracking a particular train (or the Live Activity concludes), the push token is deleted from our backend.
No User Profiles or Accounts.
We do not require sign-up or account creation. There is no profile database, no email/password storage, and no linking of App usage to any external identity.
- Third-Party Services and SDKs
OMF Solutions carefully evaluates each third-party service for compliance with our commitment to user privacy. However, as of this writing, we do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or marketing SDKs into Train Tracker Pro.
Apple Push Notification service (APNs)/ActivityKit: Used to power Live Activities. APNs issues push tokens anonymously; OMF Solutions does not correlate those tokens with any PII.
MapKit/WeatherKit (Apple): Employed to render maps and optionally show weather at a train’s location. Any API requests are anonymous, and Apple does not return or store user identifiers on behalf of OMF Solutions.
- Children’s Privacy
Train Tracker Pro is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal information except for ephemeral IP logs (not linked to PII), we do not knowingly handle data from users under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information in the App, please contact us at the address below, and we will promptly delete any such information (even though we do not store it).
- Security of Information
Even though we do not collect or store personally identifiable information beyond short-term IP logging, OMF Solutions takes reasonable measures to protect any transient data (such as a push token or IP address). All server endpoints are served over HTTPS/TLS to ensure confidentiality in transit. Log entries (including IP addresses) are stored in a secure, access-controlled environment and are automatically purged after 30 days.
- Data Retention and Deletion
No PII Retention. Because Train Tracker Pro does not collect or store personal data (such as name, email, or location history), there is no user profile data to retain or delete on request.
IP Address Logs (Time-Limited). We retain only the IP address captured when you start a Live Activity. Those IP address logs are kept in our secure log store for a maximum of 30 days and then automatically purged. They are never linked to any personal identifiers.
Push Tokens (Temporary). Any push token that you opt in to share for Live Activities is retained only for the duration of that session and is deleted immediately when you stop tracking a train or the Live Activity concludes.
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
OMF Solutions reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes (for example, if we begin collecting additional data beyond IP addresses), we will update the “Effective Date” above and post the revised policy in the App’s settings or on our website (see Contact Information below). We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
